Day Loan and Chromebook Reminders

Posted Date: 1/27/25 (5:09 PM)

Hello Falcons,

We have had a large uptick in Day Loan check outs from the library over the last few school weeks. It’s very important to bring your fully-charged Chromebook, or your charger if you forgot to charge it overnight, everyday to school.

Day Loans and Detention

You are expected to bring a charged Chromebook to school everyday. If you forgot your Chromebook or if the battery dies, please come to the library to get a Day Loan. Checking out a Day Loan too often will result in a detention.

Consequences for Day Loan Check Outs include:

1st Day Loan: Warning

2nd Day Loan: Parent Email through Parent Square

3rd Day Loans: After-School Detention with Demerits

4th + Day Loan: Referral to the Assistant Principal with progressive consequences

Day Loan Consequences will reset at the beginning of each semester.

Taking Care of your Chromebook

If anything ever happens to your Chromebook’s software or physically, bring it to the library for Ms. Whitney to look at it. Please do not try to fix it yourself or let your friends fix it.

Remember Chromebooks are expensive to fix. Here is  the fine schedule

Tips for avoiding damage to your Chromebook:

  • Buy a case - bonus you can put stickers on it.

  • Keep water bottles and food containers tightly closed while in your backpack.

  • Never drop your Chromebook or backpack on the ground.

  • Always carry your Chromebook closed or by the keyboard portion. Never carry it by the screen.

  • Remember that you will get the same Chromebook back if a repair is needed. Please take good care of it.

Here is a handy slide presentation  by the Tech Department.

While at PE, you must place your Chromebooks in the provided Chromecarts to avoid damage.

Do not loan Chromebooks or chargers to other students.  You are responsible for anything your friends do, including losing items.

We recommend that you purchase a case for your Chromebook. Just like a cell phone case, it doesn't stop all damage, but it does help mitigate it. The better the case - the better the protection. Here is a  great company that provides cases for school/frequent use.
Chromebook Models:
