Book Check Outs at AOMS

Book check outs are for a 4 week period. If your student is using their book for beyond 4 weeks, they need to bring the book to the library to renew it. Students may make new book purchase requests or put books on hold with Mrs. Otten in the library.

Who can check out high school books?

In the AOMS Library we carry books for readers at the upper elementary levels to those going into high school. The high school level books that are targeted to older students are marked with a “YA” sticker. Students must be in 7th or 8th grade to check out these books. If you ever have a question about a book your student has checked out from the library, please reach out to Mrs. Otten at kristina.otten@carlsbadusd.net.

Elementary Permission to Check Out AOMS Library Books

The AOMS Library works with the AOE 5th Grade Teachers for advanced readers in the Spring semester. These students most be sponsored by their teacher. If your 5th Grade teacher has contacted you about your advanced reader using the AOMS Library to expand their access to higher reading level books, please complete this permission form.  These 5th grade students will have access to the same books our 6th graders have access to. They will not be allowed to check out the "YA" designated books for 7th and 8th grade only.

CHECKING WHAT YOUR STUDENT IS READING

CUSD Library Team has put together a quick and easy way to check your student’s library account to see what library books, textbooks, tech items and fines are on the account. Please see the flyer below for directions. You will need to select the school your student is currently enrolled at, regardless of which school the books are from.
