A hardy thank you to everyone that participated and volunteered for the Book Fair this year. It was a success and we reached our fundraising goals to provide reading programs this year.

California Young Reader Sign Ups 

Students can sign up for the CYRM Program in the library (you must be logged into your student account). Students read the three titles and take a quiz on each book. After you are done, vote for your favorite. 

Students that complete the program will receive extra credit in their English class and come to a pizza party with prizes. 

Parent permission is required to participate. See Mrs. Otten for details.
Carlsbad City Library Reading Challenge
Calling readers in grades 6 to 8: Read and select the activities option to track your reading. Earn rewards after every 10 books. Participants who read 50 books will earn a lei to wear during your promotion ceremony to showcase your accomplishment. 
Readers will track their reading via Beanstack or pick up a paper tracker at Dove Library.  if you have any questions, email Librarian Ashleigh Hvinden (ashleigh.hvinden@carlsbadca.gov) or Marin Faeyera (marin.faeyera@carlsbadca.gov).

Sisters of the Neversea

Book of the Month on Sora

Read the Book of the Month through the Sora app in Clever, brought to us by the San Diego County Library. 

Sisters of the Neversea by Cynthia Leitich Smith

A new take on the classic story of Peter Pan. Follow two step-sisters, Wendy from England and Native American Lily, as they meet the boy who will never grow up and find dangers and wonders as they find their way back to the family they love. 

Students can access these books provided by the San Diego County Library. Here's how to sign in.
